Irene K. Williamson
Irene K. Williamson is a chemist who has turned alchemist. Like the alchemists of old who transformed base metals into gold, Irene transforms bits and pieces of ordinary things into works of art. Her exciting collages are rich in color, bold of design and filled with creativity. She studied at the Art Student’s League in New York and has taken numerous workshops with noted artists from across the country.
Her large abstract paintings are done in acrylics and often have collage elements fused into the designs. She has won numerous awards for her paintings, including a Best of Show Award for her painting, “Derelict City” in 2007.
